Specialist private nurses bring advanced medical training, clinical experience, and in-depth knowledge of complex surgical recovery and long-term health needs. Unlike carers, who can assist with general daily tasks and personal care, a specialist nurse is equipped to manage medical procedures safely, such as stoma and internal pouch care, wound management, catheter maintenance, and infection control.
Choosing a private specialist nurse means you receive tailored clinical support, professional monitoring, and early intervention if complications arise. This can reduce hospital visits, promote faster healing, and provide peace of mind for you and your family.
Choosing a specialist nurse ensures:
Expert care: From stoma appliance management to wound dressing and catheter maintenance, a specialist nurse provides expert, safe and evidence-based support tailored to your condition.
Early detection of complications: Specialist nurses are trained to recognise signs of deterioration and manage complications autonomously, before they become serious.
Personalised education: A specialist nurse empowers you with knowledge and confidence, teaching you techniques to manage your condition safely.
Peace of mind: With a specialist nurse, you and your loved ones can trust that your health and dignity are in experienced hands.

Home Visit
(London area only)
Our iPouch & Stoma Nurses provide home visits for those interested in a home visit.
Please note that, due to logistical reasons, these visits are limited to London area.
Sometimes, to better understand your needs, our ipouch & stoma nurses may need to have a brief telephone consultation to better understand your needs prior to a home visit.
Our nurses may need a GP referral to provide you with the best advice.
Rapid Response Outreach Team
(London Area Only)
Our iPouch & Stoma Nurses provide rapid response services for those patients in need in the London area.
This is a face-to-face home visit required to manage complications.
In our experience, this is usually most helpful for people with a stoma or enteric fistula struggling with their care.
This service helps us prevent you from ending up in A&E, or requiring hospital admission.
As the service is for rapid intervention, you do not require a GP referral and can directly contact us and we will arrange to see you as soon as possible.
